Some software for download is often provided in files whose names end in .ZIP. A ZIP file compresses a group of files into a single file. In order to use the ZIP file, you need to be able to "unzip" the ZIP file. Most computers shipped today (with Windows XP) include "unzipping" software. Double-clicking the downloaded ZIP file on your computer uncompresses the group of files from the zip. Then you can install the program.
